Stanford Continuing Studies Programs (CSP) is seeking a
Business and Technology Curriculum Director
to maintain and improve the program’s business and technology curricula and help re-envision offerings to meet dynamic consumer demand. The role reports to the Associate Dean for CSP and combines teaching (25%) with administrative responsibilities (75%), including program development, long-range planning, and partnership development. Responsibilities
Lead the strategic development and ongoing refinement of the business and technology curricula with an aim toward increased enrollments and revenue generation. Provide data-informed insights to leadership to support enrollment forecasting, budget planning, and marketing strategy, ensuring curriculum development aligns with program goals and learner demand. Design and lead research efforts to inform program development and the strategic plan, including trends in education, business, and technology, growth areas, and best practices from peer schools and corporate competitors. Source, collect, and analyze data to assess the effectiveness and relevance of offerings; provide expert recommendations to drive growth and enrollment. Teach a minimum course load of four, 10-week courses annually (1 per quarter or equivalent). Design rubrics to provide measurable assessment standards for curriculum; codify best practices and program norms. Develop the roadmap for a revamped curriculum based on research and consumer demand. Identify emerging industry trends, learner demand, and workforce needs to inform new courses, credentials, and interdisciplinary offerings. Manage financial sustainability by using enrollment and performance data to prioritize high-impact offerings and guide resource allocation. Advise and support instructors on pedagogy, instructional technology, and student management issues; conduct class visits (via Zoom or in person) to monitor quality and address issues. Review evaluations and provide feedback, coaching, and mentorship to instructors; report progress to CSP leadership. Collaborate with leadership and marketing to develop outreach strategies for business and tech courses and draft communications describing the program vision and offerings. Edit and review course catalog entries and contribute to marketability efforts. Explore strategic partnerships with other university programs, groups, or corporations to expand the curriculum’s visibility and impact. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience managing a budget and developing financial plans. Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources. Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills; fluency in area of specialization. Ability to oversee and direct staff; work autonomously. Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans. Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and independence. Preferred Requirements
Strong data analytics skills; experience in UX/market research. Experience teaching adult learners in business and/or technology fields. Background in ethical and sustainable business and/or technology practices. 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in a business or technology-related industry. Compensation and Benefits
