Overview
L&I IT Security Senior/Specialist (Security Architect) — Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. The IT Security Services (ITSS) unit protects the confidentiality, integrity and availability of agency-wide IT assets and data and provides risk analysis to guide reduction activities. This Security Architect role reports to the Chief Information Security Officer and supervises a team, providing expert IT security architecture and leadership across security domains agency-wide. Base pay range
$97,356.00/yr - $130,992.00/yr Responsibilities
Supervise, coach and mentor professional IT Security staff within IT Security Services. Provide IT Security Architecture guidance and develop IT strategic plans aligned with security architecture goals. Lead security and architecture reviews, including security assessments, risk analyses, and testing of new technologies. Plan and design security architectures for proposed solutions, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, availability and compliance. Define security requirements for network security, authentication and authorization across IT systems and data. Ensure solutions comply with agency and state requirements while following the IT strategic direction. Identify security requirements based on privacy, confidentiality and data classification. Create and maintain artifacts for the agency security program (policies and standards) and document threats and attack vectors. Provide IT security strategic planning and create a strategic vision for security, recommending compliant solutions when gaps exist. Qualifications
Required
Ten (10) years of professional, customer-service-focused IT experience. Four (4) years of IT experience with at least two security focus areas from: Database Security, Mainframe Security, IT Security Architecture, Application Security, Patch Management, Network Security, Desktop Security, Secure Software Development Lifecycle, Anti-Virus/Anti-Spam & User Provisioning/Access Control. AND at least four (4) years of experience with at least two security strategic services from: Security Architecture, Security Assessments, Vulnerability Scanning, IT Project Management, Security Reviews, Security Analysis, Firewall Management, Threat Management, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Security Information & Event Management. Certifications such as CISSP, Network Security, Security+; knowledge of PCI, OCIO, IRS, CIS, NIST; TOGAF and/or SABSA. Supplemental Information
