SENIOR DIRECTOR, HARDWARE AND VIRTUALIZATION ADMINISTRATION Information Technology Services (ITS) is recruiting for one (1) Computer Systems Manager NM-II, to function as Senior Director, Hardware and Virtualization Administration. Responsibilities

Develop, recommend, and manage cloud, virtual, and hardware infrastructure to apply specific VMWare/MS engineering methodology or technology on ITS projects and advocate for exceptions to established best practices in order to account for ITS complexities and achieve ITS project objectives. Ensure VMWare/MS, Windows, vendor hardware and software components are operating accurately and efficiently within the ITS I&O Operations. Troubleshoot all issues with various ITS teams and external vendors to maintain business continuity. Lead ITS teams in the execution of engineering operational cloud and virtualization workflows and the use of capacity planning tools that focus on speed to market, return on investment and delivery of business value. Serve as the lead engineer for the modernization of the agency’s cloud and VMWare virtual and hardware infrastructure. Work with the administration, various teams, business users along with VMWare and Microsoft to architect, engineer, and deploy modern technology. Collaborate daily with developers and business relationship managers (BRMs) to assist and support their customized solutions. Stay current with emerging technologies that provide measurable benefits, including cloud platform services, on‑prem/private cloud, hyper-converged infrastructure, composable infrastructure, virtual backup, VDI and related opportunities. Define engineering requirements based on an understanding of the customer’s business needs and objectives. Act as the lead engineer and deploy tools including Vcloud, vRealize Operations Manager, vRealize Automation, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, and Horizon View to meet business needs. Hours/Shift

Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Minimum Qualifications

A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of progressively more responsible full-time IT experience, including applications development, systems development, data communications and networking, database administration, data processing, or user services; at least eighteen (18) months of this experience must have been in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity in the areas described above; or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of progressively more responsible full-time IT experience as described above; or A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years of progressively more responsible full-time IT experience as described above; or A satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to the above, with at least a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least three (3) years of the described IT experience, including eighteen (18) months of administrative/managerial/executive/supervisory experience. Note: In the absence of a baccalaureate degree, undergraduate credits may be substituted for a maximum of two (2) years of IT experience; graduate credits may substitute for up to one (1) year. However, credits may not substitute for the eighteen (18) months of administrative/managerial/executive/supervisory experience as described above. Preferred Skills

Expertise in virtualization technologies using VMware, Red Hat, Microsoft Hyper-V and underlying server infrastructure. Experience with hardware and servers from HP, Dell, Hitachi, and IBM. Ability to partner with the business and demonstrate the value of IT Infrastructure teams. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, planning, and execution skills. Understanding of current and emerging infrastructure technologies and practices, with the ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to business leaders and to IT staff; ability to negotiate contracts. Additional Information
