Overview
The Director of Procurement will lead the firm’s procurement strategy and operations, ensuring effective sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management. This role is responsible for driving efficiency, compliance, and transparency across the procurement lifecycle, while building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The position is based in Boston with a hybrid work model (three days in-office per week). Responsibilities
Lead the firmwide procurement function, setting strategy and best practices across sourcing, negotiations, and vendor management. Oversee all procurement processes including RFPs, RFQs, supplier assessments, and due diligence. Partner with business units to understand requirements and ensure vendor selections align with strategic priorities and cost optimization. Negotiate contracts, oversee purchase orders, and manage vendor relationships. Collaborate with compliance, IT, and data governance teams to address vendor risk, market data usage, and regulatory requirements. Manage Accounts Payable and lead the implementation and optimization of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) automation tools. Develop reporting and analytics to improve visibility into spend, payment cycles, and KPIs. Work with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and spend management, particularly in technology and data categories. Oversee the contract lifecycle to ensure timely renewals and proactive management of key contractual obligations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 10-15 years of progressive procurement experience, including market data and/or technology sourcing. Strong background in contract negotiation, vendor management, and risk assessment. Proven leadership and project management skills. Ability to collaborate across teams, influence decision-making, and drive process improvements. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Seniority level
