Suburban Hospital is a 228-bed, Level II Trauma Center, and a community-based hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Suburban Hospital is a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine and has served Montgomery County and the surrounding area for more than 65 years. The designated trauma center for Montgomery County, Suburban Hospital is fully accredited by the Joint Commission and has earned ANCC Magnet Recognition for nursing excellence.

Suburban Hospital provides an array of comprehensive behavioral health services for individuals with emotional problems, mental illness and substance use disorders, as well as services designed to foster mental health. Our treatment philosophy emphasizes respect for patients and their families with the goal of providing care in the least restrictive environment possible and within the local community.

Partial Hospitalization Program (adult)

Addiction Treatment Center (ages 13 and above)

Responsibilities An Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides all aspects of patient care management at Suburban Hospital. The APP performs a variety of functions within the scope of practice of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. This role serves as a liaison for all disciplines and services interfacing with the individual department. The NP/PA will be credentialed according to the medical staff regulation of SMH with consultation and collaboration from the appropriately credentialed supervisory attending physician(s).

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred

NP Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing for NP for MSN (NP). Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (NP). Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training

Active licensure from the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner

NP Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)

Maryland Controlled Substance (CDS) License

Federal DEA License

Current BLS certification required

Salary Range: Minimum $57.99/hour - Maximum $89.88/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
