As an Informatics Manager, you will be a trusted partner to your clients and play a key role on your client teams. You will lead the day-to-day execution on your projects with the support of a collaborative, cross-functional group. This role offers the opportunity to shape strategy, engage directly with clients, and support new business efforts in a dynamic and mission-aligned environment. Key Responsibilities
Overseeing project timelines and deliverables, ensuring quality standards are met Collecting, cleaning, and validating client data to ensure accuracy and completeness Preparing and transforming datasets for use in client analyses and reporting Leading the design, development, and maintenance of advanced SQL queries to support business intelligence and analytics efforts Writing SAS code from scratch or modifying existing code to query and analyze data Researching and gathering information to support project work and client initiatives Reviewing and analyzing work products Providing input for the development of effective solutions and insights Creating, updating, and maintaining Excel models and datasets Leading the preparation of client reports and presentations in collaboration with the team Participating in Athena’s strategy meetings and providing feedback on community initiatives Upholding a high level of personal and professional integrity in all client and team interactions What We’re Looking For
Must-Haves 6–10 years of experience in healthcare informatics, data management, or analytics roles Experience collecting, validating, and preparing datasets for analysis and reporting Advanced SAS and SQL skills required; proficient in writing complex queries to implement business logic and derive insights from large datasets Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams Adaptable to ambiguity and able to handle undefined assignments, serving as a flexible team player ready to tackle new and evolving tasks Experience and desire in developing junior actuarial resources through training and day-to-day collaboration Commitment to Athena’s mission and values Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote-first environment Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Excel Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, and Word Nice-to-Haves Experience with Federal Health Agencies (e.g., HHS, CMS, AHRQ, etc.) Interest in the actuarial profession or working towards an ASA/FSA designation Perks & Benefits
