AWS Finance seeks a Finance Manager to join the AWS Regions Finance team. In AWS Regions we develop strategies for infrastructure in new countries and we look 10+ years down the road, oversee current region build-outs and review performance of existing regions through their life-cycle. We work closely with senior leaders in cross-functional partner organizations developing and reviewing the strategic multi-billion infrastructure investments. You will drive strategic initiatives to improve the quality and timelines of business insights provided to AWS and Amazon leadership, including ongoing efforts around existing process improvements. This position will be responsible for driving financials that inform large investment decisions, supporting regions wide consolidation and advisory, and drive several AWS-wide mechanisms in partnership with central and tech teams. The role also will influence improvement / optimization opportunities to improve the Region P&L. This role regularly interfaces with leaders of AWS Regions Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Accounting, New Region Strategy and Planning (NRSP) and provides business and financial insights on New Regions performance that gets reported to AWS and Amazon senior leadership. Key job responsibilities
Drive core financial processes including annual operating plans, monthly/quarterly business reviews and assessment of risks/opportunities, and month-end close. Support/ consolidate in-flight updates to senior business and finance leadership to ensure they have the latest information on the financial plan of record Deliver monthly financial report covering P&L on AWS Regions portfolio highlighting key performance highlights and actions for business and finance Influence strategy through effective verbal and written communication on new ways to assess and drive financial performance across the regions portfolio to senior finance and business leadership Lead cross-functional partnership with other AWS Finance teams and senior leadership on forecasting quarter-end/ annual/ multi-year region performance Prepare and deliver business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and potential roadblocks in the execution of new region expansion plans Perform financial reporting, ad-hoc project analysis and financial modeling to support business and finance leadership Lead special projects to drive automation and process improvement, collaborating with other AWS Finance partner teams Think big and be an active thought leader in optimizing and scaling AWS Regions portfolio. Basic Qualifications
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor\'s degree and 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience Preferred Qualifications
MBA, or CPA 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Knowledge of SQL/ETL 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market.
