Responsibilities
Lead and execute the SMB go-to-market strategy across NAM, focusing on existing and new issuer partners, including New Distribution Channels, to expand Mastercard’s footprint, grow market share, and strengthen leadership in the SMB segment.
Collaborate across the Commercial and New Payment Flows teams (including Transfer Solutions and Corporate Solutions) to partner and cross-sell Mastercard solutions.
Partner with Account and Business Development teams to engage clients, identify high-potential opportunities, build a strong, dynamic sales pipeline, and close deals.
Drive commercialization efforts with Finance, Sales, Marketing, Franchise, and Customer Delivery to ensure seamless execution of SMB initiatives and adequate resources for success.
Ensure an SMB needs-based, customer-centric narrative is driven throughout the organization and with customers and prospects.
Support client-facing negotiations, lead or co-lead key SMB deals, include SMB-specific incentives in deals, and align Mastercard’s value proposition with client needs.
Track and manage pipeline performance using SFDC and commercialization tools to enable timely follow-up, issue resolution, and traction across the region.
Champion internal alignment across product groups, Finance, and Sales Excellence to secure buy-in and momentum from stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Develop and promote SMB growth strategies, identify best practices, and create scalable models that drive measurable results in issuer portfolios.
Foster sales enablement by creating compelling client materials, training sessions, and use-case content tailored to SMB needs and opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Location is flexible between Purchase, NY or New York City; travel may be required.
Experience in financial services and payments ecosystem; proven sales professional skilled at understanding customer needs and tailoring solutions.
Experience developing, owning, and driving strategic direction in a heavily matrixed, cross-functional environment.
Credible thought leader capable of working with key customers to build payments and SMB strategies.
Ability to bring products and solutions together to meet segment needs; understanding SMBs’ unique needs.
Background in business development, product development, product management, and product sales.
Ability to work autonomously and drive programs with cross-functional partners; strong sense of urgency and influencing skills.
