My client, one of Hawaiʻi’s most established and respected builders, is seeking a Project Engineer (Waterfront – Marine Structures) to support delivery of major marine and waterfront scopes, including piers, bulkheads, wharfs, cofferdams, and waterfront utilities. Responsibilities

Review and process shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs for marine structures and utilities. Provide daily engineering support to superintendents for marine concrete pours, steel installation, and utility tie-ins. Track and document quality control testing (concrete breaks, coatings, steel inspections) to meet company and federal standards. Assist with scheduling, procurement, and equipment tracking for marine construction packages. Prepare and maintain daily reports, safety documentation, and compliance logs. Support coordination between subcontractors, consultants, and inspectors. Work with owners, engineers, and government representatives to resolve field issues quickly and effectively. Expectations

Be actively engaged in the field, supporting crews and superintendents as well as office functions. Identify and communicate coordination issues between marine scopes and adjacent civil/utility work. Ensure strict adherence to safety standards (OSHA/EM 385-1-1) and environmental compliance requirements. Deliver accurate, timely documentation for federal compliance and project closeout. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Marine Engineering, or Construction Management. 3–6 years of construction experience, ideally with marine, waterfront, or heavy civil projects. Knowledge of marine concrete, structural steel, or utility systems. Familiarity with NAVFAC or USACE projects is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; scheduling software (Primavera P6 or MS Project) desirable. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must be eligible for base access and able to work on secure government sites. Benefits & Additional Details
