Senior Salesforce Developer (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst)
Base pay range: $148,118.88/yr - $180,463.92/yr
The City of San José seeks a Senior Salesforce Developer (Enterprise Supervising Technology Analyst) for the Information Technology Department (ITD). This role supports the City’s two-year program to expand San José 311’s internal capacity for coding and customer service, focusing on digital service delivery analysis and improvement, and development of new services that bridge access, language, and ease of use barriers for underserved community members.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Development:
Lead architectural design and development within the CRM ecosystem, including Salesforce platform customizations, MuleSoft integrations, and Java applications connecting with downstream city systems. Design accessible applications and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Application Customization:
Design and develop usable, accessible solutions; participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, implementation, upgrades, and testing. Build custom applications, features, and integrations within Salesforce to meet evolving business needs.
Maintenance & Operation:
Provide ongoing support for the Salesforce CRM, troubleshoot issues, stay current with Salesforce technologies, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Platform Management & Innovation:
Support Salesforce CRM, collaborate with vendors, and enhance system capabilities to improve community service delivery.
Quality Assurance & Documentation:
Conduct lifecycle activities, create technical documentation and user guides, and develop analytics to monitor digital asset performance and engagement.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Build and maintain partnerships with vendors and internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
Work Arrangement The position is currently eligible for a hybrid telework schedule (32 hours onsite, 8 hours remote). Schedule details may change.
Qualifications
Minimum:
A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible professional/journey-level experience, including at least two (2) years of lead technical work in development, implementation, and maintenance of electronic business systems or related areas.
Substitution:
Additional related work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years. A Master’s Degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Licensing:
Valid California driver’s license may be required. MCSE or equivalent certification may be required.
Other Qualifications:
Experience with Salesforce administration, configuration, development (Apex/Lightning), integrations (MuleSoft), and related technologies; familiarity with data management, security, and analytics in Salesforce; experience with Git or other version control; strong problem solving, analytical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
$148,118.88 – $180,463.92 (includes 5% ongoing non-pensionable compensation)

Represented by CAMP bargaining unit; eligible for City benefits and equity-focused programs.
