Digital Connectivity System Design Engineer Architect (Lead or Senior Level) role at Boeing. Location: Seattle, WA. Position Responsibilities
Lead the engineering team in the design, development, and integration of hardware and software products, including Define requirements based on program/product management input and evaluate operational use cases Define system, hardware, and software designs and interface specifications Lead test/validation to demonstrate that the system design meets requirements Support lab and ground/flight test evaluation of the system (including lab setup) Ensure system integration and compliance with regulatory and industry requirements Monitor supplier performance to ensure successful integration and compliance of components Lead the system/product certification effort Serve as the primary technical liaison with customers, stakeholders and regulatory bodies Conduct technical reviews and provide engineering guidance Support development of project schedule, budget and resource plans Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, marketing, supply chain, and external suppliers Establish and maintain engineering processes, standards, and best practices to ensure product quality and performance Work with product management to drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Basic Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 9+ years' experience developing and qualifying new aircraft cabin system products, including experience as a lead engineer 2 years’ experience with Boeing commercial aircraft Willing to travel up to 10% of the time Preferred Qualifications
10+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with airborne hardware and software, with a preference for software focus, including: Embedded systems engineering (SW & HW) Software engineering experience including: Custom-built Linux-based systems Scalable cloud-hosted systems DevOps Machine learning Front-end design Recent experience completing qualification of components to Boeing D6, DO-160, and DO-178 requirements Experience developing and testing per component reliability requirements Experience with Boeing’s engineering processes and systems Experience working with the Agile development process Experience working with a global team outside of traditional hours Other Requirements
