The Controller owns all accounting functions for our clients, including issuing client financial statements, conducting fluctuation analyses, developing financial models, and managing departmental budgets and forecasts. The Controller also directs Attivo staff to manage full-cycle month-end close, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance. Prior experience building financial models and establishing policies within a corporation is highly preferred. Ideal candidates have worked with early-stage startups and are passionate about helping companies scale. The position location is flexible/work from home, with preference for candidates in: San Francisco/Bay Area, Los Angeles/Southern California, New York City, Austin, and Boston. Candidates in other locations are encouraged to apply. Some travel to in-person events is required (approximately 2–3 weeks per year). In-person onboarding training will occur within the first 3 months (locations vary). Responsibilities

Manage all general accounting functions, including month-end close, eliminations & consolidations, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Prepare monthly consolidated client financials with fluctuation analyses and budget vs. actual comparisons Oversee cash collection, vendor payments, cash management, and cash forecasting Build financial models to help clients manage cash and make proactive operational decisions Analyze operations to identify cost efficiencies and implement improvements Create and manage KPI dashboards Manage HR responsibilities including payroll, onboarding/offboarding, and benefits Oversee client tax matters to ensure timely compliance Lead annual financial audits as required Manage and mentor accounting teams across all clients Requirements

Desire to work with CFOs and receive mentorship Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, Netsuite, Bill.com, Gusto, Expensify, Carta Excellent written and verbal communication Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Independent judgment and decision-making Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities Professional curiosity and creativity Passionate about continuous learning and improvement Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years at Assistant Controller level or higher Experience guiding and leading high-performing accounting teams Experience in fast-paced technology and/or professional services environments Professional Attributes

Base plus bonus; starting salary range approximately $160,000 to $200,000 per year plus bonus. Benefits
