Senior Legal Counsel, Disputes & Litigation — based in Miami. Support FIFA’s mission by handling external disputes and contentious matters, including civil, criminal matters and arbitration cases (note: this role does not involve CAS sports-related matters). Responsibilities

Responsible for the conduct of all external disputes and contentious matters involving FIFA, including civil and criminal matters and arbitration cases (note: this does not include the conduct of any sports-related matters in the CAS). Provide legal advice and guidance across FIFA functions related to contentious matters, including advising on litigation risks and outcomes. Conduct settlement negotiations in the context of disputes. Manage multiple cases in Switzerland and internationally. Engage and instruct external counsel, and oversee budgets for external legal spend. Attend court hearings, review, draft and comment on documents. Your profile / Qualifications

Fully qualified to practise law (admitted to the Florida bar or eligible to register as Florida Authorized House Counsel) having completed academic and practical training. 8+ years of legal practice PQE. Substantial experience drafting legal documents in English. Excellent negotiation, drafting, problem solving and analytical skills. 8 years of on-the-job expertise in a recognised firm or in-house legal department. Demonstrable interest in or experience of sports, media, sponsorship and regulatory matters, including interplay between sports and competition law. First-class written and spoken English language skills for drafting and negotiating complex agreements. Comfortable providing advice to senior leadership and communicating practical, solutions-based legal guidance. Structured, reliable, highly organised with strong attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a high-performing team and foster collaboration to achieve organizational goals. Proactive with a sense of personal responsibility and ability to work autonomously on multiple projects. Resilient with the ability to handle a large workload amid shifting priorities. Open-minded team player with excellent communication skills and ability to work across cultures. High degree of professionalism and confident demeanor; capable ambassador for FIFA in external settings (courts, mediations, negotiations, workshops, assignments). Ability to build and maintain relationships with FIFA senior management and external counterparts. Willingness to operate outside of comfort zone and continuously reflect on and develop working methods. Native level English (or equivalent) for drafting and negotiating complex agreements; proficiency in other FIFA languages (French/Spanish/German) is an asset but not required.
