Overview
Principal Network Administrator - Secret
Location: Boulder, CO (on-site required). Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, up to 10% of the time. Relocation assistance: None.
Responsibilities
Maintain smooth operation of LAN/WAN/VPNs.
Plan, design, configure, and install network hardware to support customer requirements.
Maintain technical expertise in networks and hardware/software interconnection (routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, gateways, etc.).
Propose solutions to management and optimize communications to meet current and future needs.
Create and maintain network documentation and operational instructions.
Provide regular monitoring and network analysis for short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment as needed.
Design networks or portions of networks, including hardware/software package selection.
Additional Duties
Plan, manage, and implement complex network designs in support of customer requirements.
Develop technical solutions addressing complex problems with ingenuity and creativity.
Support network teams in project designs, clarifying requirements and providing design solutions per standards.
Troubleshoot network infrastructure and related systems.
Document network hardware and software components.
Install and configure Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
Implement and troubleshoot LAN technologies (VLANs, trunking, spanning-tree, and related protocols).
Provide third-level support and after-hours/weekend support as needed.
Work with high degree of independence; long-term review and accountability for results.
Implement and troubleshoot WAN technologies (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF; telco circuits).
Interface with customers to manage installation timelines and deliverables for successful deployments.
Ensure timely resolution of critical/complex problems within SLA requirements.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and Excel.
Basic Qualifications
Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant IT experience; OR Bachelor's Degree with 5 years; OR Associate's Degree with 7 years; OR High School Diploma/GED with 9 years of relevant IT experience.
Experience designing and maintaining LAN/WAN networks; managing routing on large LANs; experience with Cisco hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE).
Ability to lift equipment up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
Current DoD Secret level security clearance (minimum) required.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering; Security+ CE; Cisco CCNA/CCNP; 6 years in network design, analysis, and administration.
Experience with network analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, Opnet).
Experience configuring TACLANES.
Experience troubleshooting network procedures and system integration challenges, including COTS.
Demonstrated leadership or experience managing small teams.
Active Top Secret or SCI access is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long-term incentives may apply depending on position and eligibility.
