The Cancer Care program at Presbyterian is seeking a
Hematology/Oncology
trained physician to join the busy program. We’re all about well-being, starting with yours. Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy. Medical oncologist works in collaboration with the supportive care team and may coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Hematology includes diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders. In alignment with NCCN guidelines, order and oversee diagnostic testing; prescribe treatment and supportive medications; collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, and research to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure. Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum. Participation in tumor board(s) is required. Practice highlights: 60% Oncology / 40% Hematology See an average of 22+ patients per day Clinic hours M – F 8-5; Tuesday and Thursday Tumor Board Practice Responsibilities: 80% office, 10% inpatient, 10% admin Call frequency: 7 weeks per year Member of the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance for clinical trials Systemwide Epic (EMR) system Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology BC/BE Medical Oncology and Hematology NM Medical License Demonstration of CARES behaviors and the practice of collaborative care Benefits
