Hematology/Oncology
trained physician to join the Cancer Care Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We're all about well-being, starting with yours. We offer a nationally competitive salary with relocation allowance available, CME allowance and fully paid malpractice insurance.
Practice Highlights
60% Oncology / 40% Hematology
Clinic hours M – F 8-5; Wednesday and Thursday Tumor Board
Practice Responsibilities: 80% office, 10% inpatient, 10% admin.
Call frequency: 7 weeks per year
Member of the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance for clinical trials
Systemwide Epic (EMR) system
Responsibilities Summary: Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy. Medical oncologist works in collaboration with the supportive care team and may coordinate treatment given by other specialists. Hematology includes diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders
Responsibilities: In alignment with NCCN guidelines, order and oversee diagnostic testing; prescribe treatment and supportive medications; collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, research to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure. Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum. Participation in tumor board(s) is required.
Credentials Required M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology. BC/BE Medical Oncology and Hematology NM Medical License required upon start date.
