Halo Industries, Inc., a pioneer in manufacturing innovation with light-based technologies, seeks a highly skilled Optical Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team. Our proprietary advancements replace traditional processes with novel light-based equivalents, offering higher quality, lower cost, and enhanced functionality. As we rapidly expand our operations, we're looking for a leader to oversee the design, integration and verification of our prototype systems. Base pay range

$175,000.00/yr - $190,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of optical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration Assign projects, set priorities, and monitor progress to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members Recruit, hire, and onboard new optical engineering talent Provide technical leadership for the design, development, and optimization of complex optical systems for laser-based semiconductor equipment Lead the development of optical specifications, tolerance analyses, and performance models Ensure the integration of optical systems with mechanical, electrical, and software components Drive the development of new optical technologies and solutions to meet evolving customer requirements Provide technical expertise in laser systems, including laser sources, beam delivery, and laser-material interaction Experience with high-power laser systems Knowledge of optical alignment and calibration techniques Oversee the design and implementation of laser control and monitoring systems Troubleshoot and resolve complex laser system issues Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, and manufacturing Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers Present technical findings and recommendations to management and customers Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets and report on project progress and team performance Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements Manage vendor relationships and procurement of optical components Oversee the creation of detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals Requirements

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of experience in optical system design and development, preferably in the semiconductor or laser industry with a Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred; fewer years of experience will be considered with advanced degrees) Proven experience in leading and managing a team of optical engineers Extensive experience with laser systems, optical design software (e.g., Zemax, Code V), and optical metrology Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes Deep understanding of optics, laser physics, and optical instrumentation Preferred Qualifications

Experience with laser materials processing Experience with project management Experience with machine vision systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience and proficiency to manage projects and teams effectively Strong knowledge of optical component selection Benefits
