Wunderkind is looking to build on current growth in North America and bring in a Director of Business Development to aid in the next phase of its growth. Having built a good foothold, we are looking for the industry’s brightest and best sales talent to join us on the journey. Wunderkind is seeking the MarTech industry’s brightest and best sales talent to join us in a pivotal time as we evolve into a SaaS-focused provider. Reporting to the AVP of Sales and Partnerships, as Director of Business Development you’ll spearhead the new business function in close alignment. You’ll have the close support of a dedicated Business Development Associate, whom you’ll mentor for mutual success. You’ll be instrumental in managing deal flow, identifying opportunities, and helping to forge strategic relationships. As a retail-focused business that works with 650+ retailers globally, we’re looking for someone experienced in dealing with ecommerce leaders. You’ll need to be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels and understanding what is truly important to both their businesses and their KPIs. Key Responsibilities
New Business Growth: Develop and execute a robust business development strategy that aligns with client goals and Wunderkind’s roadmap. Communication: Articulate how Wunderkind’s offering drives revenue, our competitive advantage, and why it is worth the investment. Strategic Partnerships: Build, foster, and manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders to drive mutual growth and revenue. Market Research & Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities. Use insights to craft impactful go-to-market strategies. Sales Pipeline Management: Own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to contract negotiations, ensuring a consistent and predictable revenue stream. Required Qualifications
Proven Track Record: 5+ years of business development, sales, or strategic partnerships experience with a proven history of closing high-value deals and delivering revenue growth. Tech Fluency: Prior experience selling MarTech and email marketing platforms. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and take ownership of success. Strong Negotiator & Communicator: Ability to build relationships, negotiate contracts, and communicate the value proposition effectively. Strategic Thinker: See the bigger picture while deep-diving into details when necessary. Personality: Proactive hunter with a consultative approach. Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the ecommerce market and its key players, trends, and opportunities. Builder: Ability to thrive as an individual and build out a department you can lead. Ambitious & Self-Driven: Relentless in pursuing new opportunities and exceeding targets. The total compensation range for this role is $280,000 to $300,000, base plus commission. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location.
