Wunderkind is a performance marketing solution that uses AI and data to help brands acquire and retain customers through one-to-one, personalized messages across websites, email, text, and ads, guaranteeing a lift in revenue. Founded in 2010, our goal is to scale a brand’s ability to create and grow customer relationships through websites, email, text, and ads. We believe individuals should have the freedom to choose the kind of internet they want, an internet that fosters genuine relationships with brands, and an internet that treats humans like real people instead of “web traffic.” We empower brands to treat their customers as individuals, satisfying their unique needs with tailored experiences and thoughtful communication. By personalizing, automating, and scaling one-to-one experiences, Wunderkind helps brands acquire new customers at scale and keep them loyal for life. About the Role
Wunderkind is looking to build on current growth in North America and bring in a Director of Business Development to aid in the next phase and evolution of its growth. We are seeking industry-leading sales talent to join us on this journey as we evolve into a SaaS-focused provider. Reporting to the AVP of Sales and Partnerships, you’ll spearhead the new business function in close alignment. You’ll have the close support of a dedicated Business Development Associate, whom you’ll mentor for mutual success. You’ll be instrumental in managing the deal flow, identifying opportunities, and forging strategic relationships. You’ll work with ecommerce leaders in a retail-focused business and engage stakeholders at all levels to understand what is important to their businesses and KPIs. Key Responsibilities
New Business Growth: Develop and execute a robust business development strategy that aligns with client goals and Wunderkind’s roadmap. Communication: Demonstrate how Wunderkind’s offering drives revenue, its competitive advantages, and why it’s worth the investment. Strategic Partnerships: Build, foster, and manage relationships with key partners and stakeholders to drive mutual growth and revenue. Market Research & Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities; use insights to craft go-to-market strategies. Sales Pipeline Management: Own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to contract negotiations, ensuring a consistent and predictable revenue stream. Required Qualifications
5+ years in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships with a proven history of closing high-value deals and delivering revenue growth. Tech Fluency: Prior experience selling MarTech and email marketing platforms. Entrepreneurial Spirit: Thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment and take ownership of success. Strong Negotiator & Communicator: Ability to build relationships, negotiate contracts, and articulate value proposition effectively. Strategic Thinker: Ability to see the big picture while diving into details when necessary. Proactive, consultative hunter with a self-driven mindset. Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the ecommerce market and its key players, trends, and opportunities. Builder: Able to operate independently and contribute to building out a department you can lead. Ambitious & Self-Driven: Relentless pursuit of new opportunities and exceeding targets. The total compensation range for this role is $280,000 to $300,000, base plus commission. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location.
