Overview
In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize mission-critical communications architectures for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring seamless interoperability across ground, air, space, and cyber domains. Responsibilities
Architect, design, and implement digital communications systems for mission control applications. Develop modulation, signal processing, coding, synchronization, and multi-access communications techniques to enhance system reliability. Perform link budget development, modeling, and performance testing for secure and resilient mission control communications. Utilize Matlab and Simulink for algorithm development and simulation of digital communications protocols. Optimize signal and receiver designs for real-time operational conditions, including noise mitigation and equalization techniques. Contribute to open-air and flight testing of advanced mission control communication systems. Integrate Matlab-generated HDL for FPGA/ASIC implementations and ensure smooth transition to hardware platforms. Collaborate with system engineers, RF engineers, and software teams to drive mission success. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering or related field. Master’s degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering with a specialty in Digital Communications preferred. 10+ years of experience in the design and development of digital communications systems. Strong expertise in modulation, detection, synchronization, coding, and multi-access protocols. Proficiency in Matlab and Simulink for system modeling and testing. Experience in link budget analysis, noise process characterization, and receiver design. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science with a specialty in Digital Communications. 15+ years of experience in mission-critical communications systems development. Experience in Matlab-to-HDL optimization and deployment to FPGA/ASIC architectures. Background in open-air and flight testing of communications systems in aerospace environments.
