Full-time About the Role
We are seeking a
Digital Baseband Design Engineer
to join our wireless systems R&D team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and verification of digital baseband architectures and algorithms that power next-generation wireless infrastructure, including 5G, 6G, and advanced radio platforms. You’ll work at the intersection of digital signal processing, ASIC/FPGA design, and system integration to deliver high-performance, scalable baseband solutions. Key Responsibilities
Define and implement baseband processing architectures for wireless communication systems (5G/6G). Design, model, and verify digital signal processing (DSP) blocks such as channel coding/decoding, MIMO detection, OFDM modulation/demodulation, and beamforming algorithms. Contribute to the design and implementation of ASIC/FPGA baseband IP cores. Perform system-level simulations in MATLAB, C/C++, or SystemVerilog to evaluate performance against standard specifications. Collaborate with system engineers to optimize algorithms for throughput, latency, and power efficiency. Support the integration of baseband modules with RF, antenna, and software components in full system prototypes. Conduct functional verification and debugging of baseband logic using UVM, VHDL, or SystemVerilog. Stay informed on evolving 3GPP standards and contribute to innovative solutions for emerging features. Document design specifications, test plans, and verification results for internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of experience in baseband design for wireless communication systems. Solid understanding of digital communication theory (modulation, coding, MIMO, OFDM, beamforming). Hands-on experience with ASIC/FPGA design using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog. Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB, C/C++, and Python. Familiarity with verification methodologies (UVM, testbench creation, regression testing). Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with experience in lab validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol testers. Nice to Have
Experience with 3GPP standards for LTE, 5G NR, or 6G. Knowledge of hardware/software co-design and embedded systems. Experience with DSP processor architectures and parallel computing. Background in high-speed digital interfaces and SoC integration. Exposure to AI/ML-assisted baseband processing techniques.
