School of Medicine The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stanford University seeks an exceptional physician leader for a full-time faculty position as Chief of the Division of Gynecology and Gynecologic Specialties, at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in the University Medical Line (UML) or Clinician Educator Line (CE). The Division is seeking a leader for a dynamic team of over 30 faculty members and 5 Advanced Practice Providers in 5 specialty sections. The Chief will have proven leadership skills in team building, program development, and process improvement, with a record of outstanding academic accomplishment in gynecology or a gynecologic sub-specialty. The candidate will be dedicated to excellence in clinical care, clinic operations, teaching, and/or research, and will help shape the future of a growing division. The Chief will represent the service line on the Stanford Health Care Ambulatory Leadership Team and will work closely with the Department Chair and leadership to strategically grow and enhance services. Stanford offers a wealth of academic opportunities, including basic, translational, and clinical research programs. The division includes several specialized sections: Academic Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Complex Family Planning, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and Urogynecology. We are committed to innovative programs, including the Menopause and Healthy Aging initiative and LGBTQ+ health services. Pioneering services include the Stanford Fibroid Center (in collaboration with Interventional Radiology) and the Pelvic Health Center, a comprehensive multidisciplinary program. The division is a busy service line operating across two hospital systems, managing over 30,000 patient visits annually (approximately one-third new patients) and performing over 1,800 surgical cases. We offer fellowships in Complex Family Planning, Urogynecology (in partnership with Urology), and Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. Key responsibilities and expectations
Provide leadership for the Division of Gynecology and Gynecologic Specialties, including strategic planning, program development, and process improvement. Represent the service line on Stanford Health Care Ambulatory Leadership Team and collaborate with the Department Chair and leadership to grow and enhance services. Maintain excellence in clinical care, clinic operations, teaching, and/or research; contribute to the future direction of the division. Oversee and participate in clinical programs across multiple specialty sections and ensure high-quality patient care and education. Qualifications and appointment
MD, DO or equivalent and board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Evidence of leadership experience, clinical and surgical expertise, and academic achievement in gynecology or a subspecialty. Salary Range: The expected base pay range for this position is: Associate Professor $317,000 – $335,000; Professor $362,000 – $386,000. Stanford provides a pay range as a good faith estimate of compensation. The final offer will reflect experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market considerations.
