Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled
Business Intelligence Architect (BI Architect)
to join a leading clients enterprise data and reporting team. In this role, you will design, develop, and support large-scale data and analytics solutions that empower business teams to make data-driven decisions. This is a multi-year consulting engagement where you’ll collaborate closely with technical managers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of reporting, analytics, and application development initiatives. Responsibilities
Lead BI Solution Development : Analyze business requirements, design scalable BI architecture, and deliver data solutions from concept to production. Platform Administration : Oversee installation, configuration, upgrades, and security for business intelligence platforms. Data Modeling & Optimization : Design and maintain relational and multidimensional data models, ensuring performance, scalability, and accuracy. Systems Testing & Deployment : Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; coordinate deployments following change/release management processes. Data Quality & Troubleshooting : Proactively monitor data integrity, resolve issues, and optimize database performance through advanced tuning. Environment Maintenance : Manage and support non-production and production environments, applying patches, upgrades, and security best practices. Analytics & Visualization : Build and optimize dashboards and reports; apply data visualization best practices to communicate insights effectively. Collaboration & Documentation : Partner with cross-functional teams, provide training, and create clear documentation for system management and enhancements. Disaster Recovery & Continuity : Define and execute periodic disaster recovery tests to ensure system resilience. Ongoing Support : Provide timely resolution to user issues, service tickets, and off-hours problem escalations as needed. Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. 10+ years of experience
in data warehousing, data analysis, source-to-target mapping, and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas, fact/dimension tables). 10+ years of expertise
with Microsoft SQL Server and relational databases, including database design, development, and management. 5+ years of experience
with Azure Analysis Services (AAS), including data model development, deployment, administration, and DAX-based security modeling. Proven experience in building OLAP/Tabular cubes, complex calculations, and optimizing query performance. Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Cognos, or Tableau. Technical Skills
Advanced SQL and T-SQL query writing, debugging, and optimization. Performance tuning, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting using monitoring tools. Experience with ETL processes, automation workflows, and integration best practices. Strong understanding of system administration, user security, and access controls. Proficiency in data visualization principles and storytelling through dashboards and reports. Soft Skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with a talent for translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently or collaboratively across cross-functional teams. Highly organized with strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills. Certifications in relevant technologies (Microsoft, Azure, BI platforms) are a plus. Benefits
