Workday is a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources. We are seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Salesforce & Back-end Integration Engineer to join our technology team, specifically working with the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) product. This role builds applications that connect with our CRM back-end services, ensuring data is secure, performant, and reliable. About The Role
You will bridge our business operations and technical infrastructure, working on the full lifecycle of data and services—from implementing custom logic in Salesforce using Apex to designing and building robust APIs with Python. A key part of your role is ensuring seamless, high-performance data flow while adhering to security standards and Salesforce governor limits. Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions within Salesforce using Apex, triggers, and Visualforce. API Development: Architect and build high-performance back-end APIs using Python to facilitate communication between Salesforce and external systems. Performance, Governance & Data Management: Write efficient and scalable code in both Apex and Python, with a deep understanding of Salesforce governor limits. Actively monitor and optimize code to ensure platform performance. Security & Reliability: Implement robust security measures across all APIs and data integrations. Ensure systems are fault-tolerant and highly available. Operational Excellence & Observability: Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies to ensure health and performance of integrations and back-end services. Collaboration: Partner with Salesforce Administrators, business analysts, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions. About You
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a back-end engineer using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and SQL databases. 2+ years of experience with Salesforce development, including Apex and Salesforce APIs (e.g., REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming). 2+ years of experience building secure, high-performance APIs using REST/JSON. Other Qualifications
Proficiency with Apache Kafka and event-driven systems. Proficiency with Redis for caching, session management, or pub/sub messaging. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Experience with data integrity and security across all integrations. Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. This role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual stock grants.
