The Vice President of Operations Planning & Engineering is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for defining and executing a long-term operational strategy that enhances efficiency, scalability, and performance across United Site Services. This role leads the integration of workforce planning, capacity modeling, and operational engineering to ensure the right capabilities, tools, and talent are in place to meet current and future business needs. The VP partners closely with Sales, Field Operations, Finance, HR, and Business Unit leaders to identify operational gaps, drive cross-functional alignment, and implement data-driven initiatives that improve productivity, reduce costs, and support sustainable growth across all service lines, with a focused emphasis on complex operations. Essential Functions
Operational Strategy:
Defines and evolves the enterprise operations excellence strategy to ensure alignment with growth plans, field execution standards, and customer satisfaction goals. Data & Analytics:
Develops, evolves, and maintains performance dashboards and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Sigma) to track KPIs, analyze gaps, and prioritize improvements based on ROI. Training & Field Development:
Leads the Field Development Manager (FDM) and Field Development Specialist (FDS) teams to ensure adoption of operational standards. Works with HR to ensure effective leadership onboarding and development of employees in operational roles. Routing, Planning & Workforce Optimization:
Governs routing and field service systems (e.g., FSL, Demand Planning) to drive optimal labor utilization, asset deployment, and cost management across all branches. Operating Model:
Defines and institutionalizes labor and overhead models that drive standardization, service consistency, and workforce agility across Field Operations. Operational Interventions:
Functions as an internal consultant to diagnose performance gaps, execute targeted branch-level interventions, and lead turnaround strategies in collaboration with field leadership; includes process standardization and ownership of Operations Playbooks and SOPs. Change Leadership:
Leads enterprise-wide change initiatives by developing change management plans, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring organizational readiness for transitions. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborates with senior leaders across Sales, HR, Finance, and IT to embed operational best practices into systems and workflows and drive strategic alignment. Leadership & Culture:
Provides strategic direction, mentorship, and performance management for the Operational Excellence team; fosters a high-performing culture of accountability and innovation. Forecasting & Reporting Oversight:
Ensures weekly and monthly labor forecasting, scheduling, and operational performance reviews are completed and used to guide decision-making and accountability. Sustainability Framework:
Builds and maintains frameworks that monitor execution against the Operating Model and track long-term sustainability of operations initiatives. Travel:
This role requires up to 50% travel to field locations and corporate offices to support operational initiatives, training, and leadership engagement. Other:

Education Min/Preferred Education Level Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred: Graduate Degree in business administration or related field Experience Minimum Years of Experience 12 years in operations, with a strong emphasis on operational excellence Maximum Years of Experience 10+ years of leadership experience, leading large diverse teams to achieve results Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Expertise in operational excellence methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Agile) Experience with routing, labor modeling, and field service technologies (e.g., FSL) Strong analytical skills and proficiency in BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Sigma) Demonstrated ability to drive change management in matrixed environments Strong communication and leadership skills with executive presence Experience designing and executing large-scale process improvement programs Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a customer-first mindset Physical Requirements Sit while answering phones or replying to emails Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls Repeat the same movements when entering data See details of objects that are less than a few feet away Speak clearly so listeners can understand Understand the speech of another person Focus on one source of sound and ignore others Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them See differences between colors, shades and brightness Benefits Summary
