Overview
The MetroHealth System is seeking a Medical Director to lead the provider team and clinical direction of the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center Medical Services that MetroHealth provides for the Cuyahoga County Jail System. The Medical Director shall be a licensed physician in the State of Ohio and will serve as the responsible physician for the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center Health Services Program. The Medical Director will provide clinical oversight of all medical and psychiatric services, develop programs that support reduced recidivism, and provide pharmacy licensure and medication practice review. The Medical Director will work collaboratively with MetroHealth leadership, County Correctional leadership, clinical and support staff on identifying opportunities for new or revised processes to ensure access, performance improvement, as well as development of an effective, high quality, skilled and motivated workforce. Ensures that medical care within the correctional facility meets NCCHC accreditation standards and other corrections regulations. The Medical Director will uphold the mission, vision, and values of the MetroHealth System. Responsibilities
Provide clinical oversight of all medical and psychiatric services at the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center Health Services Program. Develop and implement programs that support reduced recidivism and improve access to care. Ensure pharmacy licensure and medication practice review compliance. Collaborate with MetroHealth leadership, County Correctional leadership, clinical and support staff to identify opportunities for new or revised processes that enhance access and performance improvement. Lead the development of a high quality, skilled, and motivated workforce within the correctional health program. Ensure medical care meets NCCHC accreditation standards and other corrections regulations. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of the MetroHealth System. Qualifications
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a non-restricted license to practice in the State of Ohio. Board certification or board eligibility in adult primary care or emergency medicine. Federal DEA registration number. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Ability to meet credentialing and privileging requirements as determined by MetroHealth. Experience with or certification in Correctional Healthcare is preferred. How to apply
