Job Title: Structural Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team, utilizing expertise to ensure quality control and deliver robust structural solutions. This role involves working collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals to perform comprehensive structural analyses and provide insightful design recommendations.
Responsibilities
Assist in quality control milestone reviews using your expertise.
Provide calculations on thermal and differential movement.
Assist in creating detailed structural designs.
Perform linear and non-linear structural analyses using software such as ETABS.
Collaborate with architects, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, civil engineers, and fire protection engineers.
Review shop drawings and submittals.
Track RFIs across builds and regions and provide data-driven recommended responses. Essential Skills
ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design for industrial or commercial projects.
At least 5 years of experience with design of data centers, mission-critical facilities, hospitals, schools, or highly complex commercial tower facilities.
Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards, including IBC and ASCE.
Experience in design and calculation for auxiliary framing systems used to support cable tray, conduit, ductwork, etc.
Experience in design review of non-structural components and non-building structures.
Experience in construction administration.
Strong communication and writing skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master's degree in civil or structural engineering.
PE or SE Engineering license.
Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of data centers.
Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
Detailed understanding of tilt-up and precast concrete structures, structural steel systems, seismic design, wind loading, snow loading, and forensic analysis of building design and construction defects.
Experience in value engineering for building structural systems.
Ability to evaluate the constructability of new technologies and determine construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
Ability and willingness to think outside the box to find innovative solutions during the construction process to reduce costs without impacting quality or reliability. Work Environment
This position is part of the design engineering group in the central region. Opportunities for extension and conversion are possible. The role involves a collaborative work environment with various disciplines, utilizing advanced technologies such as ETABS, AutoCAD, and Revit. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, Washington. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $73.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
