Stay Ahead of Legal Developments:
Analyze statutory, case law, and legal changes to assess their impact across all lines of Orion180’s business operations. Coordinate & Respond:
Lead efforts in responding to market conduct examinations, consumer complaints, and regulatory inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions. Facilitate Licensing Processes:
Be well-versed in the agent appointment and licensing process to streamline operations. Ensure Compliance:
Monitor state-specific laws and alerts to maintain compliance across all business areas and implement necessary updates. Risk Management:
Assist in executing the company’s compliance program by identifying and addressing key risk areas. Document & Oversee:
Maintain detailed records of processes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. Contracts & Agreements:
Review, draft, and negotiate company contracts and agreements to protect the company’s interests. Develop Policies:
Create and enforce internal policies and procedures that align with legal and regulatory standards. Communicate Legal Insights:
Draft and distribute memos and alerts regarding laws, statutes, and regulations to keep stakeholders informed. Advise on Claims:
Provide expert legal advice on claims coverage and related matters, ensuring informed decision-making. Manage Litigation:
Oversee claims litigation and coordinate efforts with outside Claims Counsel for efficient resolution. Ensure Product Compliance:
Review, draft, and update Orion180’s products to meet legal and regulatory requirements. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree and J.D. required. Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of legal practice experience, with prior experience in claims litigation (preferred) within an insurance company or law firm. Industry Knowledge:
Familiarity with Property and casualty (P&C) Insurance and experience working with state insurance departments and regulatory processes are preferred. Bar Membership:
Membership in the Florida Bar is preferred. Specialized Expertise:
Knowledge of admitted and surplus lines insurance products and a strong understanding of insurance policy language and coverage interpretation. Communication Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts. Organizational Skills:
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Research Ability:
Strong legal research skills to support sound decision-making and compliance. Professionalism:
