Job Title: Senior IT Specialist – SharePoint Support Primary Location: Washington, DC Clearance: Top-Secret (TS) Clearance (Must have to be considered) Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Specialist with a current Top Secret clearance to provide expert-level SharePoint support and solutions for a mission-critical federal agency. This individual will serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams, delivering SharePoint site development, content management, user support, and training. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience in SharePoint 2013, 2019, and Online environments. Responsibilities
Collaborate with SharePoint Administrators, Content Managers, and end-users to address content management, site creation / modification needs, and technical issues. Gather and document business requirements to support system development, enhancements, and troubleshooting activities. Develop, maintain, and enhance SharePoint content, sites, pages, web parts, and applications in compliance with organizational policies and standards. Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 SharePoint support, resolving both basic and complex issues through cross-functional collaboration. Train government users and content managers at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels on SharePoint 2013 / 2019 functionality and best practices. Offer ongoing post-training support, answer end-user questions, and demonstrate SharePoint features in a collaborative, hands-on manner. Support large-scale SharePoint projects, contributing technical expertise to improve usage and adoption. Manage and update knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation. Monitor and resolve support tickets using a web-based tracking tool, ensuring transparency and communication around issue resolution. Deliver periodic product news flashes and updates to inform users of Microsoft SharePoint changes or operational updates. Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret Clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain SCI access. 100% on-site availability at a Washington, DC government location (off-site work requires prior approval). Minimum 5 years of experience in Web, Database, and Application Design, Development, and Implementation of moderately complex systems. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with SharePoint 2013 / 2019. Experience in Tier 2 / Tier 3 SharePoint support Custom SharePoint development using Web Parts, master pages, and site definitions Packaging and deploying SharePoint solutions Customizing out-of-the-box web parts Strong communication and presentation skills Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience working with the FBI or other federal agencies Experience delivering SharePoint user training and documentation Knowledge of SharePoint Designer (2013 / 2019) and / or Visual Studio Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) – SharePoint Applications Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) – SharePoint Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) – SharePoint Administrator Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) – SharePoint Configuration / Development
