Provide technical support for GIS designs, standards, commissioning, maintenance, operation, investigations, and related activities. Evaluate technical documents for design, engineering, manufacture, inspection, testing and performance of SF6 gas insulated switchgear (GIS). Perform root cause analysis on critical equipment failures. Review high voltage (HV) maintenance programs to ensure safe and reliable operation of HV assets. Support maintenance teams by reviewing spare parts lists for existing equipment. Troubleshoot failures, assess repairs, and evaluate if equipment meets service conditions. Provide onsite technical support for critical equipment and contribute to repair details and work packages that follow Saudi Aramco standards and material specifications. Represent the organization in industry groups and ensure familiarity with international electrical codes and standards. Review company standards and be familiar with international standards. Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. Advanced degree is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of experience in GIS equipment specialization, such as participation in international conferences as a GIS specialist or employment by leading GIS manufacturers. Professional Engineer certification (e.g., chartership or PE). Technical design level insight in GIS technology of minimum 69 kV and higher. Experience in GIS commissioning as part of projects or as an OEM. Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) in a lead capacity. Depth of knowledge in manufacturing standards such as IEC; recognized as a switchgear specialist with membership in international engineering bodies. Ability to assimilate and apply new technical information quickly. Strong multitasking ability, adaptability to changing priorities, and proactive approach to improving results and processes. Strong technical training, communication, and customer service skills. Working environment
