Role We are seeking an
Associate Scientist – Analytical Chemistry
to support analytical method development and testing in a dynamic biotech environment. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in
RNA and oligonucleotide analysis , particularly using advanced chromatographic and mass spectrometry techniques. You’ll contribute to product development through rigorous data generation, method optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute analytical methods using HPLC, UHPLC, and LCMS to support RNA and oligonucleotide characterization.
Perform analytical testing to assess purity, potency, and stability of nucleic acid-based therapeutics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transfer and implement robust analytical methods.
Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instrumentation to ensure high-quality data output.
Support material testing through coordination with specialized characterization groups.
Uphold safety and compliance standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
B.S. with 3–4 years or M.S. with 1–2 years of relevant industry experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
Strong hands-on experience with liquid chromatography techniques (HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS).
Familiarity with analytical tools such as FTIR, UV-Vis, KF, ICP, DSC, and XRPD.
Experience with instrumentation, including Waters I-Class, Thermo Vanquish Flex, and AKTA Pure 150 M.
Proficiency in software such as Empower, Xcalibur, Unicorn, and BioPharma Finder.
Solid understanding of method characterization (e.g., linearity, precision, LOD/LOQ).
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in dynamic, cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Direct experience with
RNA workflows , including purification, quantification, and stability testing.
Familiarity with
oligonucleotide characterization
and analytical methods.
Working knowledge of IPRP, AEX/IEX, and HILIC chromatography.
Experience with mass spectrometry for nucleic acid analysis.
Knowledge of lean lab practices (e.g., 5S methodology).

Additional Details This is a full-time, onsite position based on a first-shift schedule (Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM), with overtime required as needed. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Boston, MA are strongly encouraged to apply.
Hourly Rate:
$41–$43, based on education and experience
