OB/Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery (Antepartum) • Full Time • 86220BR Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of supplies and equipment in the Birth Center. Functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures and adheres to OR and unit-based policies. All patient care team members are responsible to meet patient needs, demonstrate willingness to learn new skills, and foster a harmonious work environment in which high-quality patient care and customer service are consistently provided. Team members promote a cooperative working relationship with each other, physicians, other disciplines, and the public by facilitating and enhancing communication, displaying honesty and respect, displaying sensitivity to cultural differences and expressing and accepting feedback in a professional manner. The technologist is accountable to clinical and administrative nursing staff of the unit. Demonstrates competence in performing the duties and responsibilities required by his/her job. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $47.37 - $59.01 (Hourly Rate). One year OB Scrub Tech experience as a Surgical Technologist within past two years Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist educational program Current CPR Certification High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing Ability to perform basic arithmetic computation (addition and subtraction) Ability to organize and effectively set priorities Knowledge of medical terminology appropriate to the responsibilities of the job Basic computer skills The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Surgical Technologist License/Certification
