Overview
The University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Pediatrics and Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition invite applications for a non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The position is ideal for a highly motivated candidate with a strong interest in advancing his/her career through excellence in clinical practice, education, quality improvement, and advocacy. Rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications.
The Division serves as a premier gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery program with a focus on pediatric subspecialty care in inflammatory bowel disease, pediatric liver transplantation, eosinophilic GI disorders, disorders of gut-brain interaction, aerodigestive disorders, intestinal rehabilitation, nutrition, and global health. The Division provides a full array of pediatric GI subspecialty care to the Commonwealth and beyond, with ongoing collaborative relationships across Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Radiology, Transplant Surgery (UVA and University of Pittsburgh), and adult Gastroenterology for interventional procedures.
The Division supports an active ACGME-accredited fellowship program with three fellows in training (one per year) and operates within a broader UVA Health system that emphasizes research, education, and quality improvement across clinical care, education, and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality clinical care in pediatric gastroenterology and related subspecialties.
Engage in medical education and mentorship of trainees, including fellows and residents.
Lead or participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Contribute to advocacy and global health efforts related to pediatric GI care.
Qualifications
Non-tenure eligible clinical faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.
Strong interest and track record in clinical practice, education, quality improvement, and advocacy.
