The Drug Delivery And New Product Innovation Group Within Lilly’s DDCS (Delivery And Device Connected Solutions) Function studies physiological barriers across various routes of administration to apply and create novel patient-centric drug delivery solutions. The group focuses on developing injection device platforms and novel delivery devices to improve patient care, serving as a center of excellence in areas including injection physiology, nanomedicine and targeted delivery, and connected devices and digital biomarkers. Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership to nanomedicine and targeted delivery applications. Lead the development and implementation of our portfolio in delivery strategies and engage functional leaders across the organization to drive strategies that deliver the best product to patients. Drive the creation and execution of strategic project plans to support long-range and yearly business plans; drive external collaborations. Establish, monitor, and evolve functional governances with management to ensure efficient communication, escalation, and decision making. Leverage high-quality scientific principles and a drug development mindset to enable strategic and operational objectives. Maintain clear, ongoing communication about vision, performance, and impact within and outside the organization. Contribute to initiatives including acceleration plans, portfolio delivery and sourcing models, and implementation plans. Propose and lead projects from design to delivery to ensure effective and efficient project delivery. Identify potential issues and contingency plans with a focus on quality and risk mitigation across delivery platform projects. Contribute to defining technologies that align with short- and long-term organizational goals. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with technical experts and leaders; drive external partnerships to deliver on portfolio projects. Apply innovation and lessons learned in real time; foster a culture of continuous improvement through process improvement, technology, and automation. Position Qualifications
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in Nanoparticle Injection Physiology / Biocorona / Chemistry / Materials Science / Chemical Engineering (or related field) with a minimum of 15 years of relevant industrial and post-doctoral experience. Demonstrated technical mastery and scientific leadership in nanoparticle technologies and controlled release. Knowledge of particle science technologies including drug delivery and combination products (preferred). In Vivo animal research experience (preferred). Self-motivated, dedicated, and adaptable to evolving priorities. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary matrixed team environment.
