Director — Transaction Advisory, Energy & Infrastructure — Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). Our Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice (INFRA) advises across renewables, power, and energy infrastructure, supporting developers, sponsors, lenders, and project leaders to select, structure, improve and execute capital projects in a more efficient and sustainable way. Within INFRA, the Capital Strategy & Transaction Advisory team focuses on early project planning and deal due diligence, bringing together technical, market and commercial insight to drive transaction value and execution certainty. The Opportunity

At A&M, Directors lead engagements, shape client outcomes, and contribute to practice growth. This role offers immediate impact, exposure to marquee transactions and projects, and a platform for long-term career growth within one of the fastest-growing infrastructure advisory practices in the market. The Director will lead client engagements, drive project delivery excellence, and contribute to building client relationships, practice development, and sector presence. This role requires deep energy infrastructure expertise and a willingness to operate at a higher level and grow leadership responsibilities, in areas such as Oil & Gas or Power & Renewables. Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage buy-side and sell-side technical and/or commercial and market due diligence engagements, ensuring deliverables and client experience. Identify and evaluate technical, regulatory, and/or commercial matters impacting valuation; contribute insights and ensure high-quality analyses. Communicate due diligence findings effectively to clients, verbally and in writing. Manage complex engagement workstreams, integrating technical, commercial, and strategic perspectives. Support business development by crafting proposals, participating in pitches, and cultivating client relationships. Conduct market research and develop sector insights to support client strategy and internal thought leadership. Collaborate with practice leadership on service line development, internal initiatives, and resource planning. Mentor and develop junior team members to build bench strength and reinforce A&M’s performance-driven culture. Represent A&M’s Infrastructure practice in client discussions, industry events, and networking forums. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or related field required; MBA or MS preferred. 10+ years of relevant experience, including time in a top-tier consulting firm, infrastructure advisory, or project development. Experience in the energy sector (power, renewables, and/or oil & gas) required. Strong understanding of infrastructure deal environments, including project finance, transaction dynamics, stakeholders, and integration of technical due diligence into commercial and valuation considerations. Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills; proven ability to lead client engagements and deliver high-impact results. Experience supporting or participating in business development (proposals, client targeting, account management). Professional certifications such as CFA, AMP, or PMP are a plus. Experience across multiple energy technologies (renewables, conventional power, O&G). Ability to operate at the intersection of strategic, technical, and operational issues. Track record of anticipating client needs and driving outcomes with minimal supervision. High energy, entrepreneurial mindset with a client-first focus aligned with A&M values. Full-time position. Salary range: $175,000 – $195,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A discretionary bonus program is offered.
