Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planner
New York City Metropolitan Area – Contract This role with Seneca Resources (legacy QED National) involves developing a disaster recovery plan for multiple systems and a business continuity plan covering all aspects of standard business continuity. You will work with executives, management, and subject matter experts across the agency, and develop, maintain, or implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and documentation. Plan, conduct, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test plans and procedures, updating them regularly. Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event. Base pay range
$60.00/hr - $65.00/hr Responsibilities
Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets (e.g., data centers). Develop contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies. Test disaster recovery strategies and plans; plan and debrief exercises. Assess risks to business operations and essential information systems to identify acceptable recovery time objectives and resource requirements. Develop emergency management plans for recovery decision making, communications, and continuity of critical processes and governance. Establish, maintain, or test call trees to ensure communication during disasters; coordinate continuity efforts after disruptions. Write reports summarizing testing activities, goals, planning, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. Create and manage budgets for BCDR activities. Stay informed on new developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity. Qualifications
Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and CISSP preferred. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans: 5+ years (Required). Proven experience developing and implementing BCDR plans across multiple industries. Experience in risk assessments, business impact analyses, and continuity exercises. BA or BS in a relevant field (e.g., Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, IT, Risk Management). Knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, servers, databases, and cloud services. Understanding of data backup and recovery technologies. Proficiency in risk management software/tools and strong documentation/communication skills. Special requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to create or carry out business continuity and IT recovery plans, policies, and crisis management plans. Capability to deliver training and awareness programs to ensure staff readiness. Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize critical functions and resources. Seniority level
