Hybrid position (on-site at least three days per week)

Responsibilities Develop disaster recovery plans for multiple systems, including those that are integrated with other systems, and establish a business continuity plan covering all aspects of standard business continuity plans.

Collaborate with executives, management, and subject matter experts across the client organization to develop, maintain, or implement business continuity and disaster recovery strategies and solutions, including risk assessments, business impact analyses, strategy selection, and documentation of procedures.

Plan, conduct, and debrief regular mock-disaster exercises to test plan adequacy and update procedures and plans accordingly.

Act as a coordinator for continuity efforts after a disruption event.

Scope of Services Encompasses highly technical and supervisory responsibilities in BCP activities.

Collaborate with business and IT organizations to develop and refine continuity strategies.

Provide expert advice, assess risks, and deliver solutions to ensure preparedness for unexpected disruptions.

Develop emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shutdown of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.

Develop disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets, such as data centers.

Test documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.

Mandatory Skills / Experience Develop disaster recovery plans for physical locations with critical assets such as data centers.

Develop contingency plans to deal with organizational emergencies.

Test documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.

Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.

Assess risks to business operations.

Develop emergency management plans for recovery decision making and communications, continuity of critical departmental processes, or temporary shutdown of non-critical departments to ensure continuity of operation and governance.

Review existing disaster recovery, crisis management, or business continuity plans.

Establish, maintain, or test call trees to ensure appropriate communication during disaster.

Conduct or oversee contingency plan integration and operation.

Write reports to summarize testing activities, including goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.

Create business continuity and disaster recovery budgets.

Attend professional meetings, read literature, and participate in training to stay abreast of new developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity.

Desirable Skills / Experience Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) preferred

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans: 5+ years (Required)

Experience in developing and implementing BCDR plans across multiple industries

Experience in conducting risk assessments, business impact analyses, and continuity exercises

BA or BS; degree in a relevant field such as Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, Information Technology, or Risk Management

Requirements

Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud services

Understanding of data backup and recovery technologies

Proficiency in risk management software and tools

Situational awareness, abstract thinking, adaptability, and risk management

Experience with Business Impact Analyses and Risk Assessments; ability to facilitate mock IT recovery exercises

Ability to create or carry out existing business continuity plans, IT recovery plans, business continuity policies, and crisis management plans

Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels

Clear and comprehensive documentation for BCDR plans and procedures

Capability to deliver training and awareness programs to ensure staff readiness

Strong analytical skills to assess risks and vulnerabilities

Ability to evaluate and prioritize critical business functions and resources

Capability to develop strategies for minimizing disruption and maintaining continuity during a disaster
