The Division of Epilepsy within the Department of Neurology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks to hire an epileptologist who is board-eligible or certified in Neurology and Epilepsy. Expertise is required in the specific area of acute, chronic and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, electrocorticography, and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, intra and extraoperative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation (VNS/RNS/DBS), both in implantable devices and in managing the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Applicants must have an M.D. or D.O. equivalent degree. There is Dedicated clinical/administrative and nursing support. Department/Division Overview

The Department of Neurology at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) consists of 15 specialized divisions, 63 physicians, 5 psychologists, 12 dedicated research faculty, 24 residents, and 14 fellows. We deliver subspecialty care across all neurology disciplines with services spanning seven ambulatory facilities and three hospitals. The department operates 27 multidisciplinary clinics, 3 inpatient consultation services, an 18-bed neurocritical care unit, a 30-bed stroke ward, and an expanding teleneurology service partnering with seven regional hospitals. Our telestroke network includes 32 affiliated hospitals. With over $15.5 million in annual research funding, OSU Neurology engages in clinical trials and studies, supported by a biorepository and brain bank. Education includes 10 clinical fellowships and international training opportunities through the OSU Global Neurology Initiative, with partner programs in Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. In 2024, our Neurology Residency Program ranked in the top 15th percentile nationwide on the Doximity Residency Navigator list. Division Overview

The Division of Epilepsy within the Department of Neurology comprises 7 physicians, 3 APPs, 3 epilepsy nurses, and 1-2 CNP and/or epilepsy fellows each year. The Epilepsy Center provides comprehensive services for adults with epilepsy and seizures. The center is accredited by NAEC as a level 4 epilepsy center and offers outpatient clinics, EEG, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) services, and continuous video EEG monitoring. Subspecialty clinics include functional seizures, Neurostimulation (RNS/DBS/VNS), women's epilepsy, and an epilepsy surgery clinic. A new 8–10 bed adult EMU is slated to open next year with advanced technology. Patients are evaluated with PET and functional MRI. Research at the Epilepsy Center has contributed to antiseizure medications, presurgical evaluations, surgical outcomes, intracranial EEG signal processing, and care for women with epilepsy during reproductive years. Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees in clinical neurology and epileptology. Clinical responsibilities may include outpatient epilepsy clinics, EEG/ICU reading, and EMU service. Requirements

Tenure-track faculty with MD or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care. Research Faculty (regardless of rank) – Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor.
