As a Solution Architect, you will be a thought leader and trusted advisor to our clients, driving innovation, technical excellence, and measurable business outcomes. You will own the design and oversight of complex, enterprise-scale data solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, while mentoring team members and shaping JourneyTeam’s Data & Analytics practice. Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and architects to design and implement modern data solutions using Microsoft technologies.

Strategic Architecture & Design Lead the design and implementation of scalable, future-ready data architectures aligned with client business priorities. Client Engagement & Advisory Engage directly with executive stakeholders and technical teams to translate business needs into actionable data strategies. Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the solution lifecycle—from discovery to delivery. Delivery Oversight & Hands-On Contribution Oversee implementation of data engineering solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with enterprise architecture principles. Build and configure data pipelines, models, and analytics solutions using Azure technologies—acting as both architect and contributor. Practice Leadership & Mentorship Mentor and coach architects, engineers, and consultants to foster technical excellence and leadership across the Data & Analytics practice. Influence the practice roadmap, service offerings, and accelerators. Pre-Sales & Thought Leadership Support sales cycles through architecture assessments, solution positioning, and client workshops. Represent JourneyTeam in the Microsoft partner ecosystem—participating in conferences, webinars, and community events. Technology Advocacy Stay ahead of Microsoft’s evolving Data & Analytics platform (Azure, Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, SQL, Power BI). Advocate for adoption of emerging capabilities and guide clients through modernization efforts. Qualifications:
8+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields, including 5+ years architecting enterprise-scale solutions on Microsoft Azure. Experience designing and optimizing systems for high-volume, high-velocity, and complex data (batch and real-time). Deep expertise with Azure data services including: Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Logic Apps, Event Hubs, Stream Analytics, and Microsoft Fabric. Mastery of SQL, dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas), and modern data architecture patterns (lakehouse, medallion, data mesh, data governance). Hands-on experience leading data engineering teams building ingestion pipelines, orchestration workflows, and large-scale integrations. Strong coding proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to guide and review complex codebases. Familiarity with AI/ML integration, analytics adoption, and enterprise-scale Power BI deployments. Demonstrated success in client-facing leadership roles—consulting, solutioning, and delivering enterprise data transformation programs. Exceptional communication and executive presence; able to translate technical complexity into business value. Independently lead architecture and implementation of enterprise-scale, customer-facing data platforms using Microsoft Azure and Fabric. Establish internal standards and best practices for modern data architecture, including reusable templates, accelerators, governance frameworks, and design patterns. Facilitate and lead client-facing engagements, including workshops, executive presentations, and solution envisioning sessions. Participate in pre-sales activities, providing architecture assessments, scoping, and solution roadmaps that position JourneyTeam as a trusted Microsoft partner. Mentor and develop the next generation of solution architects and senior engineers, driving technical and consulting excellence across the practice. Contribute to the growth of the Data & Analytics service pillar by shaping service offerings, accelerators, and go-to-market strategies. Represent JourneyTeam in the Microsoft ecosystem through active participation in conferences, webinars, and partner community events. Maintain a 75%+ customer engagement rate, reflecting consistent leadership in client delivery and value creation. Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $120,000 – $180,000 + performance-based bonus program. Eligibility and payout are tied to individual contributions, team performance, and company success. This is the established pay range for the Standard and Senior and Principal Solution Architect roles on the Data & Analytics Practice at JourneyTeam. Final compensation is dependent on demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. In general, new employees can expect to start at the lower end of the range (with opportunity to grow and expand within the organization) Benefits:
