Overview

Title: Staff Physician Division Name: Student Affairs Department: Health Services Campus Location: Normal, IL Within limits and plans of clinical work flow and as delegated by the Director of Clinical Operations, supervise patient care to assure that medically indicated treatments are implemented and completed. Staff physicians function as the principal health care providers and are medically, ethically, and legally responsible for the care of patients at the Illinois State University Student Health Service. To provide or, when designated as a team leader, to oversee the provision of high quality primary health care to patients determined to be eligible by policy, rule, or contract, referring others for specialty care, and participating in duties necessary to the functioning of the Student Health Service. $123,642 - $127,969 Required Qualifications

Medical Professional Degree (MD, DO) Medical License and Board eligible or Board certified in medical field Expertise communication, listening and "people skills" Physical examination/Assessment skills Interpretation of lab and Radiology studies Critical thinking Analysis of gathered subjective narration and objective data Synthesis of patient information Current medical knowledge to arrive at a diagnosis Formulation of a treatment plan and appropriate follow-up, as well as patient education Current license to practice medicine in the state of Illinois Preferred Qualifications

Initial Board certification in an appropriate medical specialty Subsequent board recertification is highly encouraged Three years of experience in the practice of ambulatory primary care medicine One year of experience in a college or university student health clinic or center One year experience in the use of electronic health records systems Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Functional Expectations
