Overview The Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist for a full-time, Clinical Faculty, non-tenure earning position at Tampa General Hospital. S/he must have experience in a hospital setting. Duties include patient care, teaching medical students, supervising pediatric residents, and opportunities for research and quality improvement. A Florida medical license is required before assuming the position. Board Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is preferred, however not required.

Responsibilities

Lead a multidisciplinary team in providing medical care for infants and pediatric patients admitted to Tampa General Hospital.

Participate in the educational and training activities of the USF Department of Pediatrics which include teaching of residents and medical students.

Encourage and engage in advancing care for pediatric patients through leadership and/or quality improvement work within the hospital and medical school.

Other duties as assigned.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university.

Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.

Responsible for academic advising and related activities.

May represent the university, college/school, or department.

Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.

Board Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is preferred, however not required.

Current PALS and/or NRP certification required.

Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent; to perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full unrestricted Florida Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals where clinical duties are performed.
