Overview

Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an experienced front-line leader to join our Women & Children Service Line, supporting a 31-bed Postpartum Unit. The Director Clinical Inpatient Unit oversees the assigned unit to ensure it is performing effectively, including developing and implementing business strategy to achieve organizational goals, ensuring legal compliance, collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of the supporting team, and managing the department budget and fiscal performance. Serves as a primary liaison and information resource for the unit and oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic and evidence-based environment to deliver excellent patient care and outcomes. Responsibilities

Ensures use of guidelines, standards and evidence-based practice in care delivery, producing quality patient outcomes and a safe patient environment. Serves as a physician liaison and primary information resource/contact for the unit. Ensures compliance with the unit plan for physician satisfaction. Maintains and monitors budgetary standards and utilizes resources effectively and appropriately. Monitors patient/physician satisfaction and seeks ways to improve by ensuring continuous implementation of evidence-based practices, including discharge phone calls, leadership rounding (patients, physicians and internal customers), AIDET and HML conversations. Minimum Requirements

Certification: Basic Life Support upon start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support upon start required for Critical Care and Procedural areas; PALS upon start for Pediatric Units; and NRP upon start for NICUs. Licensure: Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. Experience: 1 year of leadership experience and 2 years of acute care nursing experience; leadership experience may include RN Unit Supervisor, dedicated charge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, or equivalent. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with obstetrics patient population. Experience mentoring and developing teams. About Us
