Open Rank Clinical Faculty - Craniofacial Plastic Surgeon
Location: Augusta University
Full/Part Time: Full Time
Job Summary: The Medical College of Georgia Department of Surgery at Augusta University (AU) is seeking a full-time faculty member in the Division of Plastic Surgery at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor with specialization in Pediatric Plastic Surgery. Qualified candidates should be board-certified or board-eligible in plastic surgery with a minimum of 3 years of experience and have completed a pediatric/craniofacial fellowship. AU seeks a dynamic surgeon and educator, with fellowship training willing to develop and grow the referral and practice depth in pediatric surgery. This qualified candidate can work with other services in our Health System such as Head and Neck Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Speech Pathology and Dental Surgery. This position does not meet the requirements to be considered on tenure track.
Responsibilities
Develop clinical practice in Pediatric Plastic Surgery.
Enhance the Plastic Surgery Program, increase clinic visits and increase surgical volumes related to Pediatric Plastic Surgery.
Work with colleagues in Otolaryngology and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Participate in the call schedule with the Divisions of Plastic Surgery.
Teach and educate general surgery residents about plastic surgery.
Required Qualifications
MD/DO degree; board-certified in plastic surgery with a minimum of 3 years of experience and demonstrated success in leadership and programmatic development.
Academic rank qualifications: Assistant Professor – early career; Associate Professor – mid career; Professor – senior career (based on experience and rank prior).
USG faculty employment qualifications: evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, and ability in all other duties; successful experience and desirable personal qualities as described.
The following institutional requirements apply: SACSCOC accreditation standards; ability as a teacher; evidence of scholarly activity; and other duties as assigned.
Shift/Salary/Benefits This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment is 1.0 FTE and full-time. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to fund availability. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. Eligible full-time employees may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program after six months of employment. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on factors including experience, education, credentials, and market data.
