Clinical Responsibilities - 90% Perform a wide range of tests, including pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams. Diagnose and prescribe treatments for disorders and diseases. Conduct routine check-ups on patients. Monitor and treat expectant mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Record medical histories. Educate patients about disease prevention and detection, and reproductive health. Collaborate with other medical and non-medical personnel. Keep up to date with current practices and innovations. Provide clinical coverage and resident supervision in Labor and Delivery. Provide patient care in ambulatory settings and in the surgical theatre. Resident Education - 10% Education of residents/students and supervision is included when in ambulatory setting and surgery. Qualifications
Required Qualifications MD or equivalent. Must be licensed or eligible for a license in the state of Georgia and have current DEA. Must be board-certified or board eligible and eligible for an active Georgia State medical license. Rank Descriptions Assistant Professor
- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training. Associate Professor
- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professor
- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Common faculty employment qualifications for all USG institutions and all academic ranks include: evidence of teaching ability; activity as a scholar; ability in all other duties; and desirable personal qualities judged by interview and recommendations. Waivers may apply for those new to academia if other requirements are met. Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The full-time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. Faculty may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program after more than 6 months of employment. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on multiple factors including experience and market data. Advancement through the faculty ranks is through the annual Promotion and Tenure process (typically five-year increments).
