Full Time Regular/Temporary Job Summary Job ID 286557 Position # 20015308 The Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine, in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. Position will work closely and actively supervise and teach a variety of clinical disciplines and students while developing best practice guidelines. This position will have extensive collaborative opportunities with multiple disciplines, providing an outstanding environment for research initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes/safety, optimizing the efficiency of patient progression through hospitalization, implementing new systems and processes, and establishing more consistent standards of practice in the acute care setting. This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track. Responsibilities

Ability to deliver effective medical care within an in-patient environment. Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise. Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Required Qualifications

Must have MD/DO or equivalent and have GA license or be eligible for GA license; must be either (i) board certified and maintain board certification in Internal Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Medicine (AOBIM)/American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), or (ii) board eligible, actively pursue board certification, and become board certified in Internal Medicine by the AOBIM/ABIM within five (5) years of completion of last training; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certified. Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training. Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience. Required faculty employment qualifications

For all USG institutions and all academic ranks within these institutions shall be: Consistent with SACSCOC requirements; Evidence of ability as a teacher; Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned; Successful experience (which will necessarily be waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements); Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations. Shift/Salary/Benefits

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary for each rank is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and more. For full-time employees with more than 6 months of employment, Tuition Assistance Program may be considered. Rank and salary are determined at hire based on factors including experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, internal equity, and market data.
