Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Northeast Regional Float – Days at Geisinger. This posting reflects an opening for an X-ray Technologist I; Geisinger reserves the right to consider applicants for higher levels (X-ray Technologist II) based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Geisinger is proud to offer General Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Regional Float positions with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a $6/hr premium on top of the base pay rate. Location: Northeast Region – Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas. Responsibilities
Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, applying ALARA principles. Preparing and/or administering medications through vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, including post-processing as applicable. Educates and monitors students and other health care providers. Assists the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures. Performs diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, including procedures outside of the Radiology Department (e.g., Operating Room, Endoscopy, ICU). Qualifications
New graduates must obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of the date of hire. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024 must complete steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months. Education: Graduate from Specialty Training Program—Radiologic Technology (Required); Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field (Preferred). Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related work (Preferred). Certification: Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); Basic Life Support (BLS). Employment details
