General Manager – Building Materials Industry RELOCATION Required!!
Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for driving success in the building materials industry? Our client is seeking a results-oriented
General Manager
to lead and oversee all aspects of branch operations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can motivate teams, optimize processes, and deliver outstanding results.
Summary for General Manager – Building Materials Industry
The General Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive sales growth, operational efficiency, and profitability. This leadership position requires hands-on engagement with day-to-day operations while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Operations:
Oversee branch sales, operations, production, delivery, purchasing, and inventory control to meet or exceed goals.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff, including conducting performance reviews, addressing issues, and making personnel decisions.
Budget Management:
Take full accountability for budgeting, financial reporting, and expense control.
Inventory Control:
Monitor and manage inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing waste and cost.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement cost-effective measures for vehicle and equipment maintenance.
Customer Engagement:
Solicit and respond to customer feedback, addressing deficiencies to ensure continuous improvement and satisfaction.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to company programs, procedures, and safety protocols.
Strategic Planning:
Forecast product demand, labor efficiency, and operational needs to align with branch objectives.
Other Duties:
Attend relevant training sessions and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess:
A minimum of
5 years
of experience in the
building materials industry , with proven supervisory or management experience.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to calculate discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends.
Proven ability to interpret written and oral instructions and adapt to dynamic situations.
