Position Summary This position has both business development and project execution operational leadership responsibilities. As the Business Leader for our Florida/Caribbean geography, you are responsible for client relationships with existing clients and for relationship development with new clients in the Cities & Places market. Your goals are recurring operational sales and new sales with upcoming opportunities. In support of this effort, the sub-geography inside sales and operational sales teams provide assistance and support in developing presentation materials as well as alignment with engagement meetings to determine gaps in the client’s plans where we can sell the ‘One Jacobs’ portfolio of services. As a Business Leader, your overall management responsibility are for direct reports at-site and for support personnel working from the home office. Under the different procurement delivery strategies - traditional design-bid-build or CM-at-Risk (CMAR) or CM-as-Constructor (CMc) or Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) or Design Build (DB) – the Business Leader provides project execution expertise through team leadership (project managers and/or construction managers), technical acumen, financial, schedule and quality control, commercial and risk management to meet project and Company objectives. The Business Leader will lead safety, development of our team, capturing and growing work with our clients, delivery of outstanding services and compliance with Jacobs requirements within various markets. Responsibilities
Safety: Ensures adherence and cultivates a culture to HSE requirements for all projects in their portfolio and aligned PMs to keep our staff, contractors, clients and adjacent personnel and property safe. Fosters and supports the Jacobs Beyond Zero safety culture with Jacobs staff, client staff, consultants, and contractors. Leadership: Manages, coaches and provides skill and career development for aligned PMs and front-line delivery management; Oversees talent engagement; Supports career development of PMs; Ensures succession plans; Drives team to provide outstanding service and solutions to clients; Keeps Global and Regional Management informed of critical project issues. Sales: Develops and/or supports the development of proposals/pricing, schedules and risk reserves; engages management and legal/compliance; works with operational sales for new client engagement and with PMs for operational sales with existing clients; ensures differentiating solutions are applied to pursuits and projects; assists with client management and satisfaction; aids in proposal writing and team composition. Delivery: Manages performance of designers, vendors and subcontractors; collaborates with management and project teams on forecasting and budgeted GM; drives delivery of high quality, value-added services; shares best practices for continuous improvement. Quality: Ensures compliance with Project Execution Group and Quality policies; manages risks, project quality plans, and reviews; conducts monthly Operational Project Reviews and other required reviews; monitors financials and ensures delivery of staff to projects. Qualifications
Minimum 10 years directly managing profit and loss for multiple projects Track record of delivering programs/projects to client satisfaction across multiple markets Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience Advanced knowledge of project management and construction management processes, means and methods Working knowledge of contract administration Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, regulations, and quality standards preferred PMP or CCM certification preferred Supporting Requirements
Base understanding of Microsoft Office programs Willingness to travel from home base for project oversight and business development Soft skills to resolve personnel issues and client concerns with technical project knowledge Excellent verbal and written communications skills Working knowledge of contract administration US EEO Statement
