A client is seeking a

Principal Product Designer

to lead the end-to-end product design of strategic, consumer, and internal innovations. This is a remote role based in New York, NY with travel to New York required. Position: Principal Product Designer Location: New York, NY 10003 (REMOTE) Pay Rate: $70/hr - $80/hr on W2 (dependent on experience) Duration: 6 months Hours: 1st shift, M-F, 40 hrs/week Preferred Time Zone: EST ONLY A portfolio is required. Overview: We’re looking for a visually driven, AI-forward, detail-obsessed Principal Product Designer to join the Accelerator Team. In this strategic role, you’ll experiment with using and incorporating AI into new workflows and big vision projects. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including Visual Designers, Illustrators, Animators, Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Content Designers—as well as Senior Leadership. Your focus will be on delivering intuitive and visually stunning experiences that reflect the client’s design excellence, product values, and the ability to push boundaries on how teams work and deliver value to users. Your work will span multiple client products, with emphasis on product thinking, visual design craft, layout, typography, brand expression, and pixel-level precision. You’ll partner directly with leadership to define and elevate the design direction of high-impact initiatives. Roles and Responsibilities

A master of product design thinking and visual craft, with deep expertise in layout, typography, color, and brand application. Design across a range of surfaces—including native mobile and web. Navigate ambiguity and build new design directions from the ground up (0 → 1). Communicate effectively, present, defend, and iterate on design work at all levels of the organization. Collaborate cross-functionally to influence and turn ideas into user-centered solutions. Adapt, learn, and pivot quickly based on feedback, research, and testing. Explore emerging tools and technologies, particularly AI’s role in design workflows. Proficient with Figma, Generative AI, and prototyping tools to explore, refine, and present ideas. Push beyond standard patterns and expectations. Qualifications

Experience designing for web, iOS, and Android with a strong understanding of platform guidelines and best practices. 6+ years of experience designing digital products with a strong emphasis on visual design. A portfolio showcasing elegant, high-quality design across product experiences. Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to balance brand with usability. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience presenting to executive stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end product design of strategic, consumer, and internal innovations. Integrate and help define the use of AI tools in the Product Design workflow. Deliver intuitive, elegant solutions that reflect a deep understanding of user needs, business goals, and brand expression. Set a high bar for design quality; obsess over details from typography and spacing to motion and micro-interactions. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, research, and content to turn ideas into polished, user-centered solutions. Work upstream with company leadership to shape design direction on strategically critical initiatives. Partner with researchers to gather insights and iterate based on evidence and feedback. Present design work with clarity, confidence, and a strong rationale grounded in user and business goals. Mentor other designers and foster a culture of creative excellence and continuous refinement. Team and Company Context

The Accelerator team is responsible for 0→1 initiatives and experimentation with AI models in product, engineering, prototyping, and design workflows. This role provides greater autonomy and specialized skills to deliver on 0→1 initiatives. Interview Process
