This HDR client holds a footprint in 49 states and leads the way in capital infrastructure for various transmission and renewable-related projects. The primary duty of the Power Delivery Lead includes knowledge and execution of the program set, technical aspects, and deliverables of projects assigned. HDR is looking for a competent engineering lead who understands and can complete technical requirements of projects from moderate to complex. The Team Lead will support the growth of a substation and transmission line team, assign tasks to junior staff, and provide technical mentorship. Quality control reviews for work performed by junior engineers and designers fall within the responsibility of the Power Delivery Lead. The role also involves working with senior engineers and the Business Class Leader to identify and develop technical expertise and attending training focused on complex concepts related to the discipline. HDR seeks a self-motivated candidate who can work independently, direct, mentor, train, and supervise less-experienced engineers, EITs, and/or designers. The Power Delivery Lead will establish strong client relationships in the region, understand clients’ business objectives, determine effective execution strategies, and build local teams or leverage existing staff to deliver world-class services. The Lead will also manage individual projects within their technical area. Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring, growing, and participating in the execution of HDR’s portfolio of Power Delivery services throughout Florida and the Southeast region. Assist regional and national leadership in growing the power delivery program by developing new client programs, enhancing our position with existing clients, and implementing long-term market strategy. Develop strong client relationships and serve as a key client manager for selected clients. Provide technical leadership and project management to ensure projects have appropriate staff and a robust quality program. Work with Project Managers to develop and refine Project Execution Plans and lead execution, including safety, quality, risk, communication, staffing, change, and commercial management. Drive consistency across multiple transmission projects regardless of discipline. Scope projects with PMs and perform site visits interfacing with Contractors, Owners, and internal teams. Identify and mitigate technical risk (staffing skillsets and availability) with EMs, task leads, and HDR technical leads. Identify and mitigate financial and schedule risk (earned value metrics and change management) with PMs. Collaborate with teams across multiple projects and offices to develop and implement best practices in transmission line and substation engineering and design. Oversee program and project setup, reporting, and closeout with PMs. Direct or supervise one or more staff as needed and ensure quality control reviews per HDR policy. Dedicate full time to the program as a process subject matter expert. Preferred Qualifications
Master\'s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field Professional Engineering License PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification CMAA Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification AICP Certification Experience participating in the consultant or owner program management team of at least one infrastructure program(s) with a capital value of $350 million Knowledge of alternative delivery/contract models (P3, DBFOM, EPC) Experience working in an integrated PMO with consultant and client staff Willingness to travel and, if needed, commute to a client site Required Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field Program management experience: either 3+ years as a deputy to the Program Manager for programs with cumulative capital value of $200 million or more, or 5+ years as a Project Manager or Project Controls Manager for programs with capital value of $200 million or more, or 10+ years as a Project Manager directing a multi-disciplinary team for at least two projects with capital value of $50 million or more Strong leadership skills and ability to build a cohesive team across locations Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to client executives and large audiences Experience with alternative delivery methods (DB, PDB, CMAR) Familiar with tools for managing large programs (PMIS, CMIS, scheduling, cost control, document management, risk management, asset management, dashboards) Commitment to HDR\'s employee-owned culture What We Believe
